Detroit Metro FC adds striker Max Rugova
BRIGHTON, MICHIGAN (January 23, 2025) - Detroit Metro FC is thrilled to announce our first-ever player signing: Max Rugova—a dynamic striker with a remarkable journey and a wealth of experience across the globe.
Born in Overland Park, Kansas, and standing tall at 6'2", Max brings a commanding presence on the pitch. From his early days with Sporting Kansas City’s academy to competing in the Bundesliga with FC Nürnberg and making his mark in the Kosovo Superleague, Max has proven himself as a player with immense grit and drive.
Max’s impressive résumé includes stints with clubs like Prishtina, Savannah Clovers FC, and most recently, Dukagjini, showcasing his ability to adapt, lead, and score at every level. Internationally, Max has proudly represented Kosovo, further cementing his place as a player to watch.
Off the pitch, Max carries on a family legacy of football excellence, with his father, Edmond Rugova, being a former professional player and coach for the Kosovo national team. This deep connection to the game is evident in Max’s passion, grit, and relentless work ethic.
