Detroit Metro FC drops points to Drita SC

BRIGHTON, MICHIGAN (May 17, 2025) - After a long road trip, Detroit Metro FC returned home on Saturday night against Drita SC at Legacy Center Sports Complex but lost in front of the home crowd with a score of 4-2.

Drita SC got on the scoreboard early in the 4th minute with a long distance shot from 40 yards out which beat DMFC goalkeeper Peter Arton.  The game went back and forth until the 31st minute where Drita SC added to their lead with a strike from the top of the box to make it 2-0.  The two goal lead was short-lived as Austin Yowell got DMFC on the board with a goal off the corner kick.  The game went into halftime at that score.

In the second half, Drita SC got their two goal lead back in the 73rd minute, but DMFC's Max Rugova Jr. made it 3-2 in the 83rd minute with an amazing one-touch volley off a free kick.  Yowell was issued a red card in the 88th minute for an infraction outside of the box, and Drita SC finished the scoring in the 96th minute with a shot outside of the box to beat Arton.

DMFC plays again in two weeks at Schoolcraft College against Alianza FC on May 31st.  The team sits in fifth place in the UPSL Premier Division's Midwest East conference.
